This was a study assignment to create a 3D asset. I enjoy the craftsmanship behind things, but also modelling in CAD with exact measurements. Therefore, I used a reference page which instructed on how to make your own chair.
I used Fusion 360 to build the wooden parts of the chair. The weave was created in Blender using curves and arrays. The large cords in the weave are geometry, and the smaller ones are texture. The Danish nails were modelled in Blender.
For the optimised 3D model, I baked the high-poly geometry of the weave to a low-poly texture. The wood was optimised with a 2K texture and with slight variation from the renders just to try it out. For the close-up detail renderings, I textured the wood with a 4K texture in Substance Painter.
